At the beach…

A fishing boat on Aldeburgh beach

We woke up to find most of England, or at least the part I inhabit, covered in a thick blanket of clouds. By nine it was hot and muggy so we decided to go to the beach where it would be more bearable with a breeze coming in off the English Channel. We went to Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast. I was looking forward to taking pictures with my new phone (chosen for its camera). Half way through the day I finally figured out how to use the zoom, but I’m really happy with the picture quality. I have to share some of my pictures of my day at the beach. As we sat on the beach, late in the afternoon the sun started to burn off the thick cloud. It was a really lovely day.

    You guys are so cute!! Did you guys get fish and chips there? I can still remember how amazing they were when we went there.

    The fish and chips were lovely!!! The seagulls flocked around giving us their well practiced, “I’m starving! One chip I beg you…” look. They must have “soft touch vision” they can see which suckers sitting on the wall with a bag of food will give in and throw them something! Yes…that’s us!

    I loved the lavender blooms against the blue wall. Is it lavender and did you smell it? I use lavender baby oil for my bath.

    @Victoria
    It is lavender (the plant) though there are different types of lavender with slightly different lavender smells. I really love the French lavender…it has these cute longer flower tufts that come out of the top of each group of flowers and it smells stronger than the other varieties I’ve come across. I really love how the lavender looks against the blue too. I wouldn’t have thought to combine the two, but they do look great together!
