For Victoria…

March 16, 2010 By Cari

Victoria asked if I could share more photos and since I did take some today…here are some things I saw in my walk in Burghley Park. The people who own the land let the public use it until dark. There are deer and sheep so even though we live in a little town for a few minutes you feel like you’re in the country.

Burghley's West face
Burghley's West face. I liked the clouds shooting out from the building.
Through the reeds across the lake
Through the reeds across the lake. The setting sun is burning out the colour, but I like the yellow sky and almost black and white look. The Lady of Shallot will be floating by...any minute...
Lion Bridge at Burghley...this was the first time I'd ever been on the bridge. The light was perfect!
Lion Bridge at Burghley...this was the first time I'd ever been on the bridge and the setting sunlight was purrrfect! 😉
Burghley House from the bridge (I don't live here...unfortunately)
A zoomed in view of Burghley House from the bridg.
Burghley House with the bridge railing
Burghley House with the bridge railing. I love this photo. It looks like a stage setting. I wouldn't be surprised if a Georgian Romeo and Juliet ran into view and started kissing. Unfortunately my Goblin was off power walking or I'd have asked him to play Romeo.

Filed Under: I've been taking photographs

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH, this is the part of England I will someday visit. I want an iternary that takes you to visit old historic homes. I will stand in the great hall (should the house have one) and close my eyes and listen for those long ago echos of the past.I know it must be very expensive to maintain (my logical practability showing thru). I somehow understand how one family could live in such a huge place. Mexico, when under Spain’s rule had the whole country run by approximately 90 families. My great-greats came with the French invaders and Max. Even though it boggles the mind I admire the planning, arquitecture, and materials it took to build such beautiful homes. Thank you I would send you some pictures of south texas but somehow I don’t think you’ll enjoy cactus, mesquite trees, sugar cane, and the HUGE bugs here. Love your photos.
