My evening walk…

November 13, 2011 By Cari

Three-thirty this afternoon I told the Goblin I was thinking of going for a walk. ‘You don’t have long,’ he said. ‘The sun is already starting to set.’ I put on two sweaters (and one of my trusty knit hats which make me look like Santa fired me for insubordination) and headed off with my camera hoping there would be enough light filtering through the trees (the sun was already low in the sky when I set off) to take photos of something…

The sun setting over England
The sun setting over England. The landscape often looks like some giant has come along and trimmed all the trees into giant hedges. Its the rooks. They snap the tops off the trees for their nests!
The little sign means there's a public footpath
The little sign means there's a public footpath across a field. I love how the farm fence echoes the lines of clouds covering the sun.
I match the fence...it wasn't planned...honest!
I matched the farm fence. It wasn't intentional...honest!
I love this one...the setting sun glinting off the metal farm fence
I think this is my favorite shot today. I love the lines of the fence. They make the landscape look surreal...as if someone painted lines through the black field...just because it would look good
The sun sinking through distant clouds...
The sun sinking through distant clouds...
Layers of colour...
Layers of colour as a blood orange sun sinks out of sight. It was like looking up at a giant water colour. Lovely! If I can remember to ask the Goblin to remove the spot from my lens that will ensure any future sunscapes aren't ruined. Lately my memory has been; in one eye out the other. Tomorrow I'm back to work on chapter 42 of Dancing the Maypole!

    @Teresa Thomas Bohannon
    It felt really good to get out. This morning I looked out the window at the cold fog and jumped back under my covers. I’ve been sliding backwards so after thinking about what might help, I found two self-hypnosis books/CD’s. I’m going to brainwash myself into wanting to eat healthy and be healthy. As long as the woman’s voice isn’t annoying it should be alright. I can’t remember what they’re called, but I’ll let you know how they go. If I suddenly start sounding like I’ve been reprogrammed by Jane Austen…well what could be wrong with that? I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving!!!
