Once Upon a Wager…c’est finis

August 30, 2016 By Cari

Once Upon a Wager is finally finished and on my website. There are four free chapters if you want to check it out! I shall be sending out the newsletter to members later today – after I’ve written it. I should have done it weeks ago and somehow spaced it off.

For those who aren’t members the book is now live on Smashwords and Amazon (though it’s not yet up on Barnes and Noble so it will probably be a few days for it to reach all the other online bookstores).

Well Cari, is Mulgrave redeemable? Finley let him off ‘lightly’. What a jerk! Though if anyone can find him a wife ‘Match em up Cari’ can and if she can’t then Mulgrave is doomed indeed.

Thanks for another seriously funny read, Cari. My review on Goodreads. Is this link allowed?

Hello Avis! Thanks for your comment. Your link is fine. Thanks for the review! When I started the story I had no idea Mulgrave was going to end up such an integral part. I didn’t know anything about him and I never imagined I’d care to know anything about him – because he’s emotional pond scum – but I did come to care about him (even though I was hoping he’d fall off the roof or at least crap his pants, but that didn’t happen). I have seen his future and met his future wife. She’s quite bizarre. She sees something good in him that few sane sighted people would. She’s decided he’s the one she wants, but her brothers are ‘hell no!’ to the union, but she’ll have her way in the end. I don’t know if I’ll ever write their story because he’s so earthy and it takes her years of work before he begins to appreciate her. Mulgrave does seem to get off lightly in Once Upon a Wager, though in the end by winning he loses what deep down he longs for most..his cousin’s love…so his punishment is mostly self-inflicted. It doesn’t get mentioned, but he also has a horrible time at the Seaside as well – Karma’s a poxed whore with an evil sense of humour! I might write up his Seaside adventure at some point, but suffice it to say…he suffers! 😉
